The importance of psychosocial support has been recognized more widely in the latest national security strategy draft. It has been given a key role in building community resilience. For instance, according to the draft strategy, psychosocial support in accident and crisis situations will be provided by the authorities acting in concert and coordinated by social and crisis emergency services.

Furthermore the psychosocial support coordination at the regional level is going to be developed. Also, a network of experts in psychosocial support is going to be formed in Finland.

The report on best practices on coordination in psychosocial support is being drafted but not yet finished.
