Administration of Civil and Disaster Relief is fully supporting and strengthening first aid skills among population. Both Administration of Civil and Disaster Relief and the Red Cross Society are organizing teams for providing laic first aid. Administration of Civil and Disaster Relief is co-financing organizing, equipping and training of teams organized within the Red Cross Society. There is an annual competition for those teams, on regional and national level. The winner of the national competition is allowed to attend international competition in first aid FACE. In 2016, FACE was hosted in Slovenia, Ljubljana. The Red Cross Society has a public mandate for conducting mandatory training for driver’s license applicants.

5. What steps has your National Society taken to support your public authorities in assessing their existing legal frameworks related to first aid?

There is a strong cooperation and coordination between Administration of Civil and Disaster Relief and the Slovenian Red Cross, e.g. (co-financing of preparedness of Red Cross for disaster preparedness).
