a) Point 29: Encourages the ICRC to intensify its efforts to prevent SV, alongside its efforts to protect and assist the victims/survivors thereof… cooperate with other components of the Movement…
b) Point 30: to continue its research and consultation with a view to formulating relevant recommendations to prevent and respond to SGBV in disasters and other emergencies
c) Point 31: To make every possible effort to make capacity-building on preventing and responding to SGBV, including by specifically training their relevant staff and volunteers at all levels… and exchanging experiences and good practices
d) Point 32: On sexual exploitation and abuse of beneficiaries by humanitarians
e) Point 33: To make every effort to support… the development and strengthening of the capacity of national institutions… and to invest in training and strengthening local expertise…
f) Point 34: To make every effort to coordinate and cooperate as appropriate with other relevant stakeholders working on SGBV…


 30: Support to ICRC to broaden evidence base on prevention;
 33: Support in ICRC's dialogue with armed forces to integrate the prohibition of SV in military programmes and all activities of armed and security forces; In addition bilateral diaologue with the Norwegian authorities to implement aspects of the resolution and promote resolution with other States;
 31, 32 and 34: Contributed to develop and pilot the new SGBV training for IFRC and National Societies, which also includes contents on PSEA. Interagency GBV Regional Advisors (REGA) has also been involved in the training.
 29 and 31: Co-organised and co-organising SGBV Fora in Africa, 2015, 2016 and 2017, SGBV Forum in Americas in 2017
 29, 32 and 34: Chairing the RCRC SGBV Working Group, consisting of ICRC, IFRC and National Societies. The Working Group has PSEA as one area of priority, and coordinates closely with GBV AoR.
 31: Support Kenya RCS, Burundi RCS, Guatemala RCS, Colombia RCS to build their capacity and implement work to prevent and respond to SGBV in emergencies and other situations of violence


a) General challenge is the sensitivity of the topic, lack of political will and commitment by States;
b) General lack of gender and diversity competency as a basis in the Movement which is a necessity to work on SGBV. This is also linked to lack of human and financial resources in the Movement to work on protection, gender, diversity and SGBV to support National Societies across the regions. Crucial training and capacity building for National Societies on SGBV cannot take place without more resources.


- More IFRC positions on G&D and SGBV with own funding in the regions is necessary.
