For the years 2015 – 2019, New Zealand Red Cross hereby pledges:
To continue to make efforts to show leadership in upholding humanitarian principles and commitments to refugee support and refugee resettlement, including as set out in the 1951 Refugee Convention.
 

Action plan

Proposed evaluation criteria:
–          Continued active participation in the implementation and monitoring of the National Refugee Resettlement Strategy to improve, in collaboration with the New Zealand Government, the resettlement outcomes of refugees;
–          Work towards ensuring that all refugees have access to essential support, regardless of their method of arrival;
–          Working alongside UNHCR to support resettlement of those refugees with the highest protection needs in the quota in order to make the greatest humanitarian difference;
–          Working to ensure appropriate access of the New Zealand Red Cross Restoring Family Links program to information held by government where it is required for humanitarian reasons to help restore contact between separated family members.
